NEW PHOTOGRAPHY WEBSITE CAPTURES HEART AND SOUL OF EVERYDAY LIFE IN NEW YORK CITY

NewYorkStreetShots.com Offers Photo Tips, Techniques and Workshops and Gives Art Buyers a Single Source to Find Images for Editorial Use.

August 16, 2007 – New York, NY – A new photography website has been launched to visually capture some of the 8-million stories in the Big Apple and share those moments with photographers and enthusiasts around the world. www.NewYorkStreetShots.com takes an up-close-and-personal look at the heart and soul of New York City, its people and their unique lifestyles as seen through the eyes of local photojournalists.

Each day, “fresh new images” are uploaded to the website by a team of photojournalists led by world-class food photographer, Olympus Visionary and founder of NewYorkStreetShots, Lou Manna. Manna’s background as a photographer, teacher and author is what prompted the idea for the Website which offers visitors helpful tips and techniques for taking great cityscapes and street shots through a series of online tutorials and scheduled workshops. In addition, art directors and designers are encouraged to visit the site to find the perfect photograph to illustrate editorial pieces for their newspapers, magazines and websites.

“As a food photographer my days are spent in the studio, surrounded by four walls and essentially cut off from everything that was happening on the streets of New York,” says Lou Manna who explains why he created NewYorkStreetShots. As a photographer for The New York Times for 15 years, he knows how to capture that telling moment, no matter what the subject matter. “I do love photographing food, but I also needed to explore other ways I could be creative with my photography and share my knowledge with others who want to learn more about capturing the essence and personality of their own city,” say Manna. “Our hope is that www.NewYorkStreetShots.com will quickly become the ‘go to’ source for anyone interested in seeing what’s happening in this wonderful city on any given day.”

Visitors to www.NewYorkStreetShots.com will be able to view photos, download screensavers, and gain technical data and tips from the select group of professional photographers who hit the streets of New York everyday to capture life in New York as it happens.

New York-based photographers interested in learning how they can shoot for NewYorkStreetShots can contact Lou Manna at lou@loumanna.com.
